A nervous man

Saki is coming back to Kuentalibros, this time thanks to Patricia, a B1 ESL learner who has just read The open window, one of the short stories included in the book Wicked and Humorous Tales.

Susi's tales

Susi, from EOI Luarca, is coming back to Kuentalibros to tell us about the whole series of Wicked and Humorous Tales, by Saki, now that he has finished reading the book.

Wicked and Humorous Tales, by Saki (pen-name of Hector Hugh Munro, 1870-1916), is a collection of six adapted short stories, all of them with an unexpected ending which makes them cute, funny and surprising.
They are all divided in two parts, just to keep the reader's curiosity.

The Open Window

Susi and his teacher Luisa, from EOI Luarca, are recommending this
short story by Saki.

The Open Window is Saki's most popular short story. It was first collected in Beasts and Super-Beasts in 1914. Saki's wit is at the height of its power in this story of a spontaneous practical joke played upon a visiting stranger.
